2026 - 2027 Board Positions

The Spring Ridge Sharks are currently seeking nominations for the following Board positions: Chairperson, Vice Chairperson, Secretary, Treasurer and Member at Large.

Once elected, each position will serve a one (1) year term which will expire at the close of the Conservancy Annual Meeting. Newly elected officers will begin their term after the Conservancy Annual Meeting.

You may nominate yourself for the following positions.

Eligible candidates for nomination are any parent or legal guardian of a swimmer registered during the most recent season, who is in good standing with the team and the Spring Ridge Conservancy.

The nomination period will close forty-eight (48) hours prior to the election on July 17, 2026 to allow for the creation of a ballot. Voting will take place via secret ballot at the End of Season Banquet on July 19, 2026.

Chairperson

  • Shall designate the time and place of the meeting, prepare the agenda, and call the Committee meeting to order and conduct the meeting.
  • Act as a liaison between the Committee, the Board of Directors, and the Managing Agent.
  • Shall be present at Committee meetings and Board of Directors Meetings from January through August, at which a report on activities shall be presented. Shall also be present for the Conservancy Annual Meeting in November.
  • Shall forward all recommendations and such to the Managing Agent and/or Board of Directors.
  • Serves as the primary point of contact for the team, presides over meetings, and acts as the Official liaison to the Spring Ridge Conservancy and the Frederick Summer Swim League. The Chairperson is responsible for the overall execution of the team’s mission.

Vice Chairperson (optional):

  • Shall assist the Chairperson during the committee meetings.
  • In the absence of the Chairperson, shall designate the time and place of the meeting, prepare the agenda, and call the meeting to order and conduct the meeting.
  • In the absence of the Chairperson, shall act as a liaison between the Committee, the Board of Directors, and the Managing Agent,
  • Shall be present at Committee meetings and, in the absence of the Chairperson, be present at the Board of Directors Meetings at which a report of activities shall be presented.
  • In the absence of the Chairperson, shall forward all recommendations and such to the Managing Agent and/or Board of Directors.
  • Assists the Chairperson in their duties and assumes the responsibilities of the President in their absence. The Vice President typically oversees subteam coordination, manages team communications via email, and oversees volunteer management.

Secretary:

  • Shall record and keep comprehensive and complete minutes of all committee meetings.
  • Shall forward the minutes to the committee members, Managing Agent, and/or Board of Directors.
  • In the absence of the Chairpersons, shall designate the time and place of the meeting and call the meeting to order and to conduct the meeting.
  • In the absence of the Chairpersons, shall act as a liaison between the committee, the Board of Directors, and the Managing Agent.
  • Shall be present at Committee meetings and, in the absence of the Chairpersons, be present at the Board of Directors Meetings from January through August, at which a report of activities shall be presented. In the absence of the Chairpersons, shall forward all recommendations and such to the Managing Agent and/or Board of Directors.
  • Records and distributes minutes of all Officers meetings, manages team website updates and newsletter, and maintains official team records, including swimmer registration and volunteer lists.

Treasurer

  • Shall maintain detailed records of all money transactions and bank accounts of the Committee.
  • Shall be responsible for all deposits and withdrawals in association with the Committee account.
  • Shall present to the Committee monthly reports of Committee funds.
  • Shall present to the Board of Directors, at the budget meeting, a detailed report on all transactions of the prior twelve months.
  • Manages all team finances, including budget creation, fee collection, expense payments, and financial reporting. The Treasurer will provide regular financial updates to the Officers and prepare an end-of-season report for the Spring Ridge Conservancy.

Member at Large (optional):

  • May fill an unmet need for the team. Duties and responsibilities will be outlined based on the requirements of the season.

Division II Championship meet at Villages of Urbana Blue Crabs .

In order to compete in this meet, you must have participated in at least 2 regular season dual meets (excluding time trials).

Deadline to register for this meet is Monday, July 13 at 11:30 PM.

If you do not register by the deadline, you will NOT be entered into the meet.

Deadline for jobs signup is Thursday, July 16 at 5 pm.

This meet counts towards qualifying for the All-star meet.

End of Season Banquet and Late Night Swim

Please come and celebrate our swimmers and their accomplishments on Sunday, July 19, 2026 at the Spring Ridge Community Pool.

The Sharks will provide cake for swimmers.

This event is only for swimmers and their immediate families.

Please RSVP by Friday, July 17.

6pm - 7pm - Team Recognitions and Awards ceremony

7pm - 8pm - Cake!

*The pools will be closed during awards.

8pm - 10pm - Late Night Swim

*Exclusive to Shark team members and their immediate family members.

Swimmers under 13 MUST be accompanied and supervised by a responsible adult.

NO FLOATS at late night swim.

FSSL 2026 All Star Meet

his meet is open only to those swimmers who meet the time standards as outlined by the FSSL.

Swimmers must have competed in two FSSL meets in 2026 prior to the All Star meet and their times must meet the FSSL2026 All Star time standards.

All families with swimmers competing MUST volunteer at the meet.

Teams may submit as many swimmers as desired who meet these criteria.

The Sharks designated warm-up time has not yet been determined.

  • Please check the boxes next to the events you wish to be entered into. Swimmers can only enter events for which they qualified.
  • Each swimmer may enter into a maximum of four (4) event
  • There is a $5.00 fee for each event entered. All entry fees should be paid online by 10 am Friday, July 24.
  • The absolute deadline to register is Monday, July 20, at 11:30 pm.
