2026 Information

Fees for competition team swimmers will be $200 for your first swimmer, $175 for your second swimmer, and $150 for each additional swimmer. Each Competitive Team family is required to volunteer throughout the season in order to run meets and social events. Every family will have a conditional fee per family (this is a limitation of the system at this time), to be applied during registration but only charged to the pre-approved credit card after the season is over, IF the volunteer requirement is not met for families with competitive swimmer. Note: The pre-approval is not a "hold" on the card, so it won't affect the member's ability to use their credit card during this time. Instead, it is an authorization for their card details to be stored temporarily (with Stripe, not SwimTopia) for use in a future transaction, if necessary. If you do not have competitive team swimmers, you will be marked exempt from this charge AFTER registration.

NOTE: The conditional fee is only a “pre-authorization to charge later.” It will NOT be charged unless necessary (you will be informed first).

All competition swimmers registered by May 10 will receive a free team shirt!

Pre-Team will return this year and will continue to be limited to 30 total swimmers (15 in the morning and 15 in the evening) with a registration fee of $200. A pre-team waitlist will be started once all spots are full.

Registration will open online on April 25 at 8 am.  There will not be an in-person registration weekend.  Please stay tuned to the website for updated information and use the Contact Us link if you have any questions.

Unsure which group is best for your swimmer?

Pre-team is suggested for our youngest swimmers that are only able to swim less than half the length of the pool, but will sit on the side or get in the water as directed by the instructors (water safe).

Competitive team is intended for those swimmers who are water safe and can swim more than half the length of the pool independently.  Competitive swimmers are encouraged to participate in meets, but are not required to compete.

Evaluation Nights will be held on May 27 and 28 for new swimmers or if you are unsure if your swimmer should be pre-team or competition.

Swimmer Eligibility

Eligibility to participate in the Sharks swim team is restricted to residents of the Spring Ridge community with a valid pool pass. At this time, non-residents are not able to swim on the team, even as a guest. Approval for team membership is contingent upon verification of residential address.

Eligible swimmers must have not reached their 19th birthday on June 1st. In order to participate on the team and in meets, swimmers must be able to continuously swim the length of our main pool (25 meters), without touching the wall, pool bottom, lane lines, or ropes.

Rules

All swimmers and family members must abide by the Spring Ridge Pool Rules when using our facilities. These rules are reviewed, updated, and distributed each year by our Spring Ridge Board of Directors. They are also posted at the pool.

In addition, as members of Frederick Summer Swim League (FSSL), our entire team must abide by the FSSL Rules.

Swimmer and Parent Responsibilities

Swimmers and Parents are required to use good sportsmanship at all times and be supportive of all team members. They are expected to treat all swimmers, coaches, parents, and officials with respect. At meets please report to the volunteer coordinator early if you are working that meet (parents). For swimmers please report to the clerk of course early for your events. If you are not swimming a meet please notify the coach as early as possible.
